HaulerBoss FAQs: Why a Square Account Is Required
Why do I need a Square account to use HaulerBoss?
Every hauler on HaulerBoss must connect a Square account. Square verifies identity, links to a real bank account, and ensures PCI-compliant payment processing. This requirement creates a baseline of professionalism and protects both haulers and clients from scams.
What's the minimum payment that must go through Square?
HaulerBoss requires at least $1 per haul to be processed through Square. This small verified payment confirms the booking in our system and establishes a trusted financial connection.
Am I limited to Square for all payments?
No. You can still collect the bulk of your payment however you prefer—cash, Zelle, Venmo, check, or other methods. The only requirement is that at least $1 per haul runs through Square to ensure verification.
Why can't HaulerBoss just allow any payment method?
The transport industry has long struggled with fraud. By requiring a $1 verified Square transaction per haul, HaulerBoss ensures identity verification, bank connection, PCI compliance, and a trust signal for clients — even if most of the haul is cash or Zelle.
How does this work with different payment setups?
HaulerBoss never touches your money but lets you decide how much runs through Square beyond the $1 minimum.

What's the benefit for Clients?
Peace of mind that every hauler on HaulerBoss has a verified Square account, secure and PCI-compliant payments, flexibility to pay deposits by card and the balance by other agreed methods, and a professional experience with official payment links and receipts.
